A small revolution ahead of Montreal.

Jannik Sinner has announced that in the upcoming Masters 1000 he will also be among the participants in doubles. It had been several months since the South Tyrolean had simply focused on singles tournaments, in view also of the physical problems that marked his 2022.

Instead, in Montreal he will also return to play doubles, this time not with his traditional partner Hubert Hurkacz, but with Canadian Vasek Pospisil. An important signal about Sinner’s newfound confidence about his physical condition, in a tournament that may help him improve some technical strokes such as short ball, smash and volley.

This was precisely the reason why he had decided back in 2021 to also dedicate himself to a doubles career parallel to his singles career, at the decision of former coach Riccardo Piatti and the rest of the staff.
