F1 Ferrari, Mattia Binotto vents, “Every single day…”
Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto: “There are always difficult moments, but I am happy with my role.”
Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto in an interview with Motorsport highlighted the difficulties he has encountered since he has been the boss of the Maranello-based team: “Have there been particularly difficult moments? Every single day… I think it has not been an easy journey that I started in 2019, when I was appointed team principal. We went through 2020, a very difficult period, and even now that we are fighting for the highest goals we have experienced races in which we have not been able to achieve what the potential of the single-seater would have allowed.”
According to Binotto, however, the balance is positive: “It is not easy but I can say that I am happy in my role, I am happy because I know I have a great team, very united. And it’s nice to see how everyone is working together.”
The line is drawn and there will be no change in approach: “I think we simply have to continue our path of continuous improvement, step by step, focusing on every single race. I am convinced that we have the potential to win races, and it doesn’t mean we have to change our approach, there is no magic wand in Formula 1. We have shown that we can do a good job, and we get there step by step, gaining experience and growing.”
