Carlos Alcaraz as Jannik Sinner: “How it hurts.”
Carlos Alcaraz spoke after the knockout against Norrie
Carlos Alcaraz eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Masters 1000 by a wild Cameron Norrie at the end of a marathon match that lasted more than three hours. The Spanish tennis player goes out with regrets like rival Jannik Sinner, who came out the round before against Auger Aliassime: “It was a very tough match, and losing this kind of match really hurts.”
“I have to take the positive things,” explained the Murcia tennis player. “I have to improve ahead of the Us Open. I have to figure out the things I did wrong in this match, and try to maintain a high level for longer, and not be erratic.”
Unlike Sinner, Alcaraz is very well placed in the race to the Atp Finals in Turin: he currently holds the second spot behind only Rafa Nadal.
