Marco Passera returns to Capo d’Orlando
Infodrive Capo d’Orlando has announced the return to Capo d’Orlando of Marco Passera, a point guard/guard born in 1982. Passera is an experienced player with excellent ballistic and technical skills, as well as human qualities. He returns to Sicily after his experience in 2012-2013, when due to an injury he played only 7 games in a Paladin jersey. In his palmares there is the victory of one Legadue championship (Varese 2008-09), one DNA (Brescia 2015-16), two Serie B (Soresina 2005-06 and Piacenza 2010-11) as well as a personal award in 2007 as Best Italian Playmaker of Legadue.
Born in Varese on Feb. 17, 1982, 180 cm by 75 kg, Marco grew up in the Robur Varese nursery. In 2005-06 he played in Soresina, winning promotion from the B1 series to Legadue in his first year and the award for Best Italian point guard in his second in the top category. In 2007-08 he signs a three-year deal with Pallacanestro Varese. His performances do not go unnoticed and coach Recalcati summons him for friendlies with Italbasket with whom he collects 11 appearances. From 2010 to 2012 he signs in Piacenza going down to DNA, then the experience with the club of Via Beppe Alfano with the very unfortunate hand injury that affects the rest of the season. After experiences in Imola and Chieti, he signed for Leonessa Brescia, with which in the 2015-2016 season he won promotion to Serie A1 as a protagonist, also playing the first part of the following championship. In January 2017, he leaves Brescia, terminating his contract, to join the Legadue club Latina Basket, then the experiences with Reggio Calabria, the return 5 years later to Piacenza and in the Campania region to Scafati, before signing in 2019 with Rieti and from 2020 with Latina, a formation with which he played the last two A2 tournaments at an average of 4.7 points and 3.6 assists.
Passera thus returns to Capo d’Orlando after a decade away. Orlandina warmly welcomes him back, as witnessed by the words of Antonio Sapone: “The signing of Marco confirms our plans: we had in mind the construction of a roster that would represent in every way what is the spirit of Capo d’Orlando. Passera represents exactly that kind of player, both on a technical and human level, with enormous technical skills, a lot of experience in guiding our youngsters, and a guy with an immense human level.”
