Casemiro dots the i’s, Carlo Ancelotti gets emotional
“Those who say that don’t know me.”
There was great emotion on the stage of the basketball arena in Valdebebas, Real Madrid’s headquarters, for the farewell to the Merengue club of Casemiro, the Brazilian who moved to Manchester United for 70 million pounds. At one point in the press conference convened specifically to give the player a chance to bid farewell to the club, emotion pervaded a bit of everyone. From the player himself, who interrupted his own words several times, to Florentino Perez and Carlo Ancelotti, for whom Casemiro represented a kind of extension of him on the pitch.
After thanking everyone, and proudly pointing out that he has been part of the club’s history, the Brazilian was keen to make clarifications about some ‘inferences’ that have come out about him.
“I don’t go to Manchester for money, those who say that don’t know me. And they don’t know that if it was for that, I would have gone four or five years ago. After the Champions League final I won, I talked to my agent, and I told him that I sensed how my cycle at Real was over. Mine was a life choice,” said the greenback.
