Volleyball Bergamo 1991, it’s on!
Bergamasque team’s training camp begins
The new adventure has begun: with an all-tricolor team, Volley Bergamo 1991 has kicked off the 2022-2023 season.
The full Technical Staff directed the first day of work of the 9 Italian athletes at work from today, Monday, August 22: Laura Bovo, Laura Partenio, Giada Cecchetto, Luna Cicola, Sofia Turlà, Giorgia Frosini, Emma Cagnin, Federica Stufi and Giulia Gennari.
The day opened with physiotherapy evaluations by Matteo Gandolfi and plicometry and weights followed by Francesco Andreoni in the Sportpiù Center in Bergamo: a cognitive phase followed by strength work. Other physical tests will be progressively included during the morning sessions of this first week.
In the afternoon, the PalaSport was the scene of the first training session, led by coach Micoli assisted by Marco Zanelli. With them, athletic trainer Andreoni and physiotherapist Gandolfi will coordinate the group awaiting the arrival of Khalia Lanier, Mackenzie May, Lorrayna Marys Da Silva and Božana Butigan.
Welcomed by Andrea Veneziani and Giovanni Panzetti, it was precisely the Technical and Sports Director who greeted technicians and athletes: “The first impression is that the group is marked by great seriousness, great professionalism and from the first moment you can breathe the desire to recreate a positive atmosphere,” stressed Panzetti. “We hope this is the prelude to a compact and combative team. I believe that this year the league is at a higher level than last season, so it is beyond important that we have a truly united and compact team, capable of picking up points even on fields where the odds will be against us. That is why I have asked the girls to quickly become a Team.”
The technical training sessions at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Bergamo will not, for the time being, be open to the public. Journalists and photographers will be allowed access only if they are accredited by their media outlet.
