Bardiani CFS Faizanè announces Petrucci to join pro team

Bardiani CSF Faizanè announced on Tuesday that Mattia Petrucci, one of the most interesting Italian prospects in the Under-23 scene, will be on the 2023 team.

A native of Verona, class of 2000, Petrucci has been twice Italian champion as a trainee, had 15 victories as a Juniores as well as notable wins and placings in the Under 23s: among them third and fifth place at the national category championships in the last two years, apiazza d’onore at Piccolo Lombardia in 2021, third position in S. Vendemmiano, and the lowest step of the podium in the stage of the Giro d’Italia U23 with arrival in Pinzolo.

“I started racing as a G6, thanks to the passion handed down to me by my dad,” Petrucci told the team’s channels, “I’ve always had fun, although only from the student category did I start collecting important results., but going pro is a dream come true of which I thank the Reverberi family.

“As an athlete I feel that physically I’m still transforming, I think I can be an athlete who can hold uphill even if not a climber, and fast to win in small groups, I feel like a stage hunter – he added -. My goal in these first years in professionalism is to get to deserve a convocation to the Giro d’Italia, which for an Italian athlete I think is the most beautiful and exciting race to participate in. I know that first of all I have to do my own, but I feel mentally and physically ready for the transition, I will try to be always competitive to deserve the trust of the team and my teammates. I thank Colpack, President Colleoni and team manager Bevilacqua who have supported me, especially in this last year, where despite some physical problems they never let me lack their support.”
