Scariolo cuts two

The Spanish national basketball team, led by Italian coach Sergio Scariolo, in his seventh year on the Iberian bench, is hard at work for the World Cup qualifiers, for which it will face Iceland on Aug. 24 and the Netherlands, Aug. 27, but also for the start of the Eurobasket, scheduled for Sept. 1.

The Virtus Bologna coach cut two players ahead of the upcoming games: they are Quino Colom, a point guard from AEK Athens, and Yankuba Sima, newly acquired from Reyer Venezia.

The following are the fourteen players at the disposal of the coach from Brescia: Darío Brizuela, Lorenzo Brown, Rudy Fernández, Jaime Fernández, Usman Garuba, Fran Guerra, Willy Hernangómez, Juancho Hernangómez, Sergio Llull, Xabi López-Arostegui, Juan Núñez, Joel Parra, Jaime Pradilla and Sebas Saiz.
