Charles Leclerc: “Such a wide gap from Max Verstappen has not occurred since the beginning of the year.”

Charles Leclerc after qualifying for the Belgian GP put emphasis on the performance of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who is clearly faster than the Ferraristi: “The gap between Max and us is huge and has been since the beginning of the weekend. It’s very strange. They found something that gave them so much pace this weekend. Let’s see tomorrow, but it looks like it will be very difficult. Gap depended on low temperatures? I think there have also been examples of the opposite, where we were strong in these conditions. Such a wide gap has not occurred since the beginning of the year.”

Leclerc will start from 15th place, alongside Verstappen, both of whom were penalized: “I will give everything, the race pace is not bad. We have to make a good comeback in the first stint and then we will see what is feasible tomorrow. Mission possible? Today’s qualifying makes me doubt it. They are really fast. We are talking about 7 tenths, not 2-3.”
