Georginio Wijnaldum has decided on conservative therapy to recover from his serious leg injury. His goal, as ‘Sky Sports’ explains, is not to risk missing the upcoming World Cup. Therefore, there will be no surgery after his compound tibia fracture.
This implies a decidedly long absence from the field, with the Dutch midfielder being out of action for 3-4 months and Roma then only being able to re-embrace him after the Qatar 2022 World Cup. And thus when the new year has already begun.
In fact, only 2023 will hand Wijnaldum back to Roma, with the Giallorossi club therefore taking advantage of these last days of the soccer market to try to give Jose Mourinho an important midfield reinforcement.
