Inter Milan, heavy tegola: injury for Romelu Lukaku, matches at risk

Important tegola for the Nerazzurri at an already delicate stage for the season.

Romelu Lukaku is out with injury. The Inter striker was training Sunday morning ahead of his engagement with Cremonese, scheduled for next Tuesday night. Here, however, he suffered a muscle soreness in his left thigh, according to ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ confirmation.

The details of his physical problem are not yet clear, nor the time frame for his recovery. A more precise diagnosis may come only between Monday and Tuesday, when the Belgian striker will undergo the necessary instrumental tests. The feeling, however, is that Inter will have to give up Lukaku not only against Cremonese but also in the derby against AC Milan, which will be played next Saturday.

The hope is that Lukaku will recover in time for Sept. 7, when Inter will play another crucial game in its start of the season: the Champions League opener against fearsome Bayern Munich.
