Italy, Marco Spissu hopeful about Danilo Gallinari’s injury
Rooster injured against Georgia
After beating Ukraine, Italy also got rid of Georgia (91-84), significantly increasing its chances of winning a pass to the upcoming 2023 World Cup. A success marred by the injury to Gallinari.
After the initial shock, more encouraging news came about the extent of the Rooster’s knee injury (the same one that cracked in 2013). “We’ve been talking with the Rooster and fortunately it shouldn’t be anything serious,” were the words of Spissu, a point guard for Reyer Venezia and coach Pozzecco’s national team. The outcome of the tests is expected today. The hope is that Gallo will be there at the European Championships (kicking off Sept. 2 with Italy-Estonia in Milan).
