Mauro Icardi in Turkey, it’s serious: the situation
The Turkish solution appears to be getting closer and closer.
Mauro Icardi is about to start a new phase of his career, away from Paris and France. Indeed, his move to Turkey, to Galatasaray, appears increasingly viable after three not-so-easy seasons at PSG, characterized by only 38 goals to his credit in all competitions.
The former Inter Milan captain is in fact now excluded from PSG’s technical project, and after some rumors to that effect he now seems ready to say yes to a move to Instanbul. According to Turkish daily ‘TRT Spor’ he could indeed land in Turkey (where the market ends on September 8) in the first days of next week, and he is already planning the steps that will entail the new phase of his career and the move to Galatasaray.
The newspaper says the parties are reaching an agreement on the basis of a loan with right of redemption, and Galatasaray is already arranging for the Argentine’s medical examinations. Icardi, who had seemed close to Juventus and Monza over the summer, is set to pair up in Super Lig with Dries Mertens, forming an offensive tandem that just over three years ago would have delighted homegrown fantasy footballers.
