F1, Ferrari third car: for Mattia Binotto is a mystery
Ferrari’s single-seater is suffering: “We are slow, we have to understand why,” Binotto’s words.
The performance crisis of the Ferrari single-seater in the last races of the Formula 1 World Championship gives team principal Mattia Binotto pause for thought. After long being the best car in the first phase of the rainbow review, now the F1-75 seems to have regressed, overtaken by both Red Bull and Mercedes, which is only 30 points behind in the constructors’ standings.
“The first concern is that we were not fast enough,” he said after the Dutch GP: this has been happening for a few races already, we need to focus and figure out why we are slow. When one is struggling on pace it is natural that the results do not live up to expectations. This is the third race in a row that we are not fast, this is what we need to look into,” are Binotto’s words to Sky.
