The 27-year-old’s goal early in the second half decides the big match

After a draw and two defeats in their last three matches, Palermo bounced back in the big match against Genoa, winning the match that opened the fifth day of the Serie B championship with a score of 1-0.

At the Barbera the man of the match was Matteo Brunori: it was the 27-year-old’s, in fact, who scored the only goal seen at the Barbera, a winning dart, in minute 49, propitiated by an acceleration of Di Mariano and a defensive error by Bani.

Despite constant pressure in the opponent’s half and 65 percent ball possession, Genoa failed to break through and thus had to record its first defeat in the league after away victories against Venezia and Pisa and draws at the Marassi with Benevento and Parma.

In the standings, Palermo can take a breather by climbing to 7 points, while the Rossoblù remain at 8.
