Carlos Sainz: “I pushed a lot. It was one of the most beautiful comebacks.”
Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz commented on his fourth place in Monza with a hint of bitterness for a spectacular comeback that could have ended with a podium finish: “It would have been great to fight for the podium, I had saved a new soft for this situation. I was there close to George, and I thought I could do it….”
“But I can still be satisfied with the comeback,” continued the Spaniard. “No mistakes, I made an overtake per lap. I had fun, I went hard. I pushed a lot. It was one of the most beautiful comebacks. It is true that when there is a comeback, I do well, I like to do it. But today in particular I was flying, overtaking everyone easily.”
