Valentino Rossi, generous race and good feelings in Valencia ‘sprint’

Eleventh place for the #46 Audi of Rossi and Vervisch.

The GT World Challenge Europe series makes a stop in Valencia and delivers a lot of excitement in Saturday’s sprint race, with the AF Corse team’s #53 Ferrari driven by De Pauw first and Jean later able to take first place at the checkered flag, ahead of the #11 Audi of Gachet and Haase and #32 Audi of Weerts and Vantoor, with the latter winning the 2022 title reserved for ‘Sprint races.

Generous race and good sensations for Valentino Rossi: starting eleventh, the ‘Doctor’ even managed to climb up to second place, trying a different strategy than the fierce competition: a problem in the pit box during the driver change, however, made the Audi number 46 of Team WRT lose a lot of time, which with Frederic Vervisch at the wheel in the second part nevertheless managed to regain at least the starting position, finishing eleventh in the sprint race on the Valencia circuit.

A new challenge for the GT World Challenge Europe drivers on Sunday, with race-2 scheduled for 2 p.m.
