Davis Cup, U.S. on the road to Italy: the Málaga fixture list
Jannik Sinner and teammates face the nation with the most Davis in its trophy case
With today’s matches, the draw for the Davis Cup Final Eight in Malaga has been finalized, which will kick off on Nov. 22, with the final scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 27. The Italy of Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini, captained by Filippo Volandri, will face the U.S. of Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe, in a match that will kick off at 10 a.m. on Thursday 24.
The other pairings will see Australia take on the Netherlands (Nov. 22 from 4 p.m.), Germany face Canada (Nov. 24 from 4 p.m.), and hosts Spain face Croatia, with the first match scheduled for Nov. 23 at 4 p.m.
The United States is the winningest nation in the Davis Cup with no fewer than 32 trophies won, including one won in the first edition, played in 1900. In contrast, the U.S. team’s last win was in 2007.
