Ferrari, dream debut for Giancarlo Fisichella and Rubens Barrichello
Scuderia Baldini’s Ferrari 488 won at Vallelunga thanks to the Italian-Brazilian duo
Back behind the wheel of a Ferrari after 17 years – and on the Vallelunga track 30 years after his debut in Europe – Rubens Barrichello scored a prestigious victory, paired with Giancarlo Fisichella, in the Roman race valid for the Italian GT Endurance Championship.
After the pole position obtained yesterday, the Roman driver controlled his rivals very well at the start, not being affected by two restarts behind the Safety Car. The Brazilian, hailed by the public that has certainly not forgotten his past aboard the Rossa in Formula 1, then completed the work with a very fast second stint, leading the Ferrari 488 to victory in the third round of the endurance season. The next round, in three weeks, will be held at the Monza Autodrome, where the winning crew in the Endurance classification of the Italian GT Championship will be determined.
