The rumors that had immediately followed the exoneration of Fabrizio Castori were confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, September 20: Silvio Baldini is the name chosen by Perugia to try to turn the tide of a season currently falling short of expectations. In the club’s statement, the members of the technical staff under the orders of the new coach were also announced.

“Silvio Baldini is the new coach of AC Perugia Calcio,” reads the official note released by the Umbrian club. The coach has signed a contract until June 30, 2023. The technical staff will consist of assistant coach Stefano Cuoghi, goalkeeper coach Cristiano Lupatelli, match analyst Mattia Baldini and assistant coach Matteo Valeri. The club wishes the new coach and staff good work.”

Baldini thus returns to coaching in Serie B eleven years after the last time, when he sat on the bench of Vicenza (experience ended with his exoneration in October 2011).
