Olimpia Milano, Deshaun Thomas feels like he’s still at the San Antonio Spurs
Olimpia Milano’s new acquisition exalts Ettore Messina
Olimpia Milano’s new player Deshaun Thomas spoke at the presentation press conference as a member of the roster at coach Ettore Messina’s disposal.
“The negotiations part is handled by my agent, I chose Milan because I think it is the right place for me, I knew some players, the team is competitive and I think I can be comfortable. The first feelings confirmed my choice. I was chosen by the San Antonio Spurs, I knew Coach Messina, I knew what to expect, what is the work culture here. I am here like my teammates to repeat the history that Milan has already built. I found an extremely effective organization that puts you in a position to give your best,” explained the former Bayern Munich and Panathinaikos among others.
Thomas went on to emphasize how he can also be used as a small forward: “I did it in Barcelona practically all year, and sporadically elsewhere. Everyone says that when I play 3’s I’m a nightmare mismatch. I think that’s true. It’s about choosing which poison to ingest, being able to play inside and outside. I think he will be a weapon for us, even more so in quintets with Shavon Shields from 2 very big as size.”
Finally a few words to describe himself, “I’m a humble player who does what the team needs to win, I’m versatile, but most importantly I’m very coachable. This is what you will see.”
