Pecco Bagnaia vs. Enea Bastianini: Aleix Espargarò goes down flat
The third wheel praises the battle between the two “disputants.”
Pecco Bagnaia and the inspired Enea Bastianini competed for victory in the Aragon Grand Prix, which eventually went to Team Gresini’s Ducati. Between the two, however, the all-internal rivalry at Borgo Panigale could also be about the run-up to the World Championship. So much so that someone from the outside could benefit from it. This is the case, for example, with Aprilia and Aleix Espargarò.
The latter is in fact just 7 points away in the championship right from Bagnaia, and in an interview granted to the Spaniards of ‘AS’ he did not hide: “I like to see two Ducati riders battle each other. There had been discussions about team orders, but in the end Bastianini won. And I think this is something very positive for the whole championship.”
Espargarò then expounded on possible developments in the championship: “Bagnaia is riding at an excellent level. That is why I think the fact that he did not win is very positive for us. Bastianini’s victory is good for the championship, and I think Enea also has some chance of winning it. It doesn’t depend only on him, in fact, and even I could go strong making his comeback more complicated.”
