Sebastian Vettel reveals his truth about retirement and Ferrari
A new truth behind the decision to retire.
Sebastian Vettel returns to his July announcement, when he made his farewell to Formula 1 official at the end of the season. A retirement that according to some hid several possible reasons, from a heavy climate in Aston Martin to the not-so-high prospects of doing well with the team. Well, in the meantime the German has denied all these inferences. And he also decided to talk about Ferrari and the one who will take his place: Fernando Alonso.
“The decision to leave Formula 1 is mine alone, and I took it on my own,” Vettel explained in an interview with ‘Autosprint.’ Neither Aston Martin nor Stroll had anything to do with it. He also denied the hypothesis that the team had therefore put him at the door precisely to make room for Alonso.
Vettel, then, decided to use conciliatory words toward Ferrari: “I spent a lot of time there, and my respect for the team and those who work there is very high. Twice I came close to the world championship, but we didn’t make it. If we didn’t win there are some reasons, but I feel calm about it.”
