David Schumacher was involved in a bad accident in the DTM championship.

Frightening accident for David Schumacher, son of former F1 driver Ralf and grandson of former Ferrari champion Michael Schumacher. The 20-year-old driver, at the wheel of a Winward team Mercedes, was involved in a terrible accident last Saturday in a DTM championship race in Hockenheim, Germany.

The boy collided with Thomas Preining’s Porsche: both crashed at high speed into the barrier. David Schumacher suffered a fractured lumbar vertebra and some injuries to one knee. He will have to stop for at least six weeks.

When David returned home, he was still complaining of back pain. We then decided to go to a hospital in Salzburg to have an MRI. It turned out to be the broken lumbar vertebra, and the doctors told him to be stationary for six weeks,” Dad Ralf’s words.
