Germani Brescia, John Petrucelli recalls challenge with a new Olimpia Milano acquisition
Petrucelli recalls challenge with Mitrou-Long
Germani Brescia guard John Petrucelli, interviewed on the ‘Basket Time’ program, talked about the ongoing challenge with former teammate Naz Mitrou-Long, now at Olimpia Milano.
“No one knows that last year Naz and I initiated an internal challenge during all training sessions. We would bet dinners at the end of the week. We were always against each other in five-on-five drills,” revealed the naturalized Italian player.
“Whoever lost most often had to pay for dinner. Gradually, our teammates started betting as well. Result? Our workouts reached very high levels of intensity. Sometimes they were tougher than the championship matches. There, that’s one of the secrets of last season’s success,” Petrucelli continued.
Then the White and Blue player had his say about the Lombardy team’s new point guard, Troy Caupain: “We played together in the G League, were opponents in Israel and teammates again two years ago in Ulm. Meeting him again is a pleasure. He will be able to offer us great options.”
