Benevento, Fabio Cannavaro: “There is fear, it doesn’t suit me.”
The technician speaks out after the draw with Ascoli
Fabio Cannavaro began his adventure as Benevento coach with an internal draw against Ascoli. A result that, as he himself tells in the press conference, does not leave him satisfied for several reasons.
“There is fear among my players, I saw it in the first half (which Ascoli finished ahead, ed) and I am not okay with it. The boys know they can make mistakes but they have to go on the field with more confidence and more conviction. I don’t like fear in soccer, it made us suffer too much tactically and made us lose lucidity. I saw disorientation, luckily we recovered the disadvantage.”
Cannavaro then spoke about his return to Italian soccer, for the first time as a coach: “I was pleased to return to Italian soccer, there was so much euphoria, so much expectation, the boys felt it. The crowd was fantastic in the second half, I understand the discontent at the end of the first but it is always better to judge at the end of the game.”
