On the shields surely the new acquisition Jordan Mickey, author of 23 points, but also Kyle Weems who, against Maurizio Buscaglia’s men, cut an important milestone.
The U.S. player, beginning his fourth season with the Bologna club, in fact surpassed the quota of one thousand points scored in a Virtus Bologna jersey (he is now at 110), scoring 14 of them with an excellent six of eight from the field, which helped the Vu Nere earn their first championship success.
Last season, Virtus Bologna saw confirmation of the 2021 Scudetto win slip away only in the playoff final, lost 4-2 to Olimpia Milano. The highlight of the Felsinians’ year, however, came on May 11, with the conquest of the Eurocup, won in the final against Turkey’s Bursaspor. This success gave Scariolo’s men a pass for the 2022-23 Euroleague season, a competition in which the Bolognese have not participated for 14 years.
