Galeone and the backstory on Allegri: “I told him he was making a mistake.”

In the interview granted to Libero Giovanni Galeone spoke about his protégé Massimiliano Allegri: “Returning to Turin, he turned down sensational offers from Real and PSG. I told him: make a mistake, be more international, taste other realities. In recent times he had become a bit lazy, he wanted to be close to his friends, his family.”

“In recent times he had gotten a little lazy, he wanted to be close to friends, family. He was never adored in Turin, even when he was winning. But if you take a coach for a four-year project, do you ask him to win the Scudetto right away? At Juve, only the law of winning at all costs always dominates.”

In closing, Galeone also dedicated a joke to Marco Giampaolo: “Excellent things for Gasp, undecided for Max and painful for Giampaolo. His being ‘geeky,’ tied to schemes, rubs him the wrong way. He should have more imagination. The other two were my players, they were coaches on the field, they read the game as few do. Especially Gasp.”
