Inter breathes: Calhanoglu takes down Barcelona
Nerazzurri overcome the Blaugrana thanks to a goal from Calhanoglu
Inter won against Barcelona and remained fully in the race for a place in the round of 16 of the Champions League. The Nerazzurri only needed a great goal by Hakan Calhanoglu from the edge of the box late in the first half.
At the beginning of the match it seemed that Xavi’s men were the ones doing the match but in the second half the meneghini came out and started to impose their game. The match director, Slovenian Vencic, cancels Correa’s mark for offside but, in the recovery of the first half, Simone Inzaghi’s men find the lead thanks to a right-footed shot by Calhanoglu that gives Ter Stegen no chance.
Upon returning to the field, Barcelona began to push and would do so until the end of the game, but without finding the equalizing goal. The referee annulled the goal scored by substitute Ansu Fati and, despite more thrills in the final, the Nerazzurri brought home three points that are crucial for the continuation of the path in the Champions League.
