Champions, Juventus: Massimiliano Allegri tough on the drop in the final
Allegri did not like Juventus’ attitude after the 2-0 win
Juventus’ second consecutive victory, its first in the Champions League, has not yet swept away doubts about the Bianconeri team’s resilience: against Maccabi haifa, in fact, Massimiliano Allegri’s team had a slump after Vlahovic’s 2-0 win, conceding 2-1 with a quarter of an hour to go and even risking conceding the second goal before Rabiot restored the lead to +2.
Allegri himself, in the post-match press conference, was rather harsh with his own when talking about the phase in which Maccabi tried to get back into the match: “The boys realized right away that we can play a quarter of an hour like that. Going ahead 2-0 does not mean to stop playing, but to be even more bad. We need to be more effective and instead we were light: we risked letting them equalize, that can’t happen.”
“When everything seemed easy, we gave up as a team,” pressed the Livorno coach. “We didn’t foul on their goal, that’s not good. Let’s hope that the goal we conceded is not relevant at the end, when the accounts are made.”
