Champions, Milan: Stefano Pioli doesn’t look for alibis
Stefano Pioli comments on Milan’s tough defeat in England
The away match at Stamford Bridge is the least happy chapter in a start to the season that, so far, had not brought major disappointments for Milan. Dark faces among the players as they left the field, far from happy also the coach Stefano Pioli, who at the microphones of ‘Prime Video’ commented on the knockout against Chelsea without looking for alibis.
“The lack of experience of some of our people in Europe and the absences due to injury had nothing to do with the final result,” said the Parma coach. “We simply had to be more lucid especially at the beginning, when Chelsea were not pressing much. However, we made some wrong choices, it is clear that sooner or later, like that, you get goals.”
For Pioli, however, Milan remained in the game at least until Aubameyang’s goal: “The 2-0 changed our attitude,” he said. “We did not remain a team as we usually do, at these levels the price to pay is very expensive.
