Kimi Raikkonen, likely sensational new turn in his career
Kimi Raikkonen could land in IndyCar
Former Formula 1 driver Kimi Raikkonen, the last man to win a world championship driving a Ferrari, could return to racing a year after leaving F1.
According to reports in the Brazilian newspaper ‘Uol Esporte,’ the Finn is reportedly in talks with a team committed to the IndyCar championship: Chip Ganassi Racing.
Iceman would not run all races next season but would alternate behind the wheel with American Jimmie Johnson.
Raikkonen, fresh from a brief stint in NASCAR with the Trackhouse team, would thus become the first world champion driver in Formula 1 to race in IndyCar since 1993. The last was Britain’s Nigel Mansell, who also won the title in his debut year.
