Portugal, Spain and Ukraine have submitted a joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup. The Spanish Football Federation officially announced this, explaining that the joint proposal of the three states has the full support of Uefa.

Ukraine, currently invaded by Russia and in the midst of war, would host a round of the World Cup. “The Royal Spanish Football Federation and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) have incorporated the Ukrainian Football Federation (UAF) in the Iberian bid to organize the 2030 World Cup. The proposal has the unconditional support of UEFA in a global project that transforms European soccer into an exceptional situation.”

“With the full support of Aleksander Ceferin, the Iberian bid incorporates the federation chaired by Andriy Pavelko to send a message of unity, solidarity and generosity from all of European soccer.”

“The bid strengthens ties with Europe, generating hope and providing tools for reconstruction to the Ukrainian people, who have expressed pride and gratitude for participating in this project.”

“The World Cup 2030 Coordinating Commission, headed by Antonio Laranjo, is already working with the participation of Ukraine, which will soon incorporate members of its delegation. The Ukrainian arrival does not alter the established schedule: Spain maintains its 11 venues and Portugal will have three.”
