F1, Max Verstappen ignores Lewis Hamilton and waits for FIA

“I’m here to drive fast and get the best possible result for them.”

Max Verstappen seems much more focused on winning a second world title-which could come this weekend at Suzuka-than on the budget cap case.

The Red Bull driver seemed unfazed by the accusations against his team of exceeding the allowable budget cap: “As far as I know, and also from what I hear from the team, we haven’t done anything wrong. We have reason to believe that everything is fine. However, this is a matter for the FIA and the team, it is not up to me. I am here to drive fast and get the best possible result for them. I don’t have much more to say, I think we will know next Monday.”

The Dutch champion dreams of winning the World Championship as early as the Japanese Grand Prix: “Winning the World Championship here would make it even more special because of our relationship with Honda. I think it was a shame we couldn’t be in Japan last year and we are looking forward to racing here again, we will see how the weekend goes. We have to do everything perfectly, that’s for sure.”
