Former Italian captain Paolo Bertolucci extols Luca Nardi’s performance against top ten Tsitsipas.
It was a special week for Luca Nardi: the class of 2003 after clinching his first victory on the circuit in Astana played virtually even with Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, a top ten player in the world rankings, without conceding break balls.
Even former Davis Cup national team captain Paolo Bertolucci praised the young Italian with high hopes on social media: “Bravo Nardi, a defeat that smells like victory!”
Third among the Under-20s behind only Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune, Luca Nardi is currently ranked 130th in the Atp rankings, his best result ever.
