Sbk, Ducati: Alvaro Bautista doesn’t look at the standings
Alvaro Bautista is not swayed by the rankings
After a perfect weekend in Catalonia, with a trio of victories in Race 1, Race 2 and Superpole Race, Alvaro bautista is ready to get back on his Panigale VR4 to race the last European round of the Superbike World Championship, in Portimao, Portugal.
The Ducati rider spoke this way ahead of the race, “My thought is that this is a new race. All the riders start from scratch, so the standings don’t matter. I think, with this margin, I can risk more maybe because I have an edge with the points. For me, it doesn’t change much. I think it’s better to focus on this weekend, try to do the best, try not to make mistakes. For me it’s important to enjoy the bike and do the best job possible.”
Bautista leads the world standings with 394 points, ahead of Toprak Razgatlioglu (335) and Jonathan Rea (327).
