Bread and salami: a combination that gets everyone to agree and, why not, even opponents on the field?

More than 13 years after their last official meeting, Cremonese and Napoli return to face each other at the Zini Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m.

After the pact of honor made between Cremonese and its fans regarding chants at the stadium, a pact of civility that to date is unrivaled (from the stands of the Zini stadium only chants of encouragement for one’s own team and never shouts of hatred against opponents), the city of the Torrazzo welcomes its opponents with a tasty surprise: a uniquely sized maxi-salami sandwich accompanied by Napoli salami that will be made on Sunday, Oct. 9 from 10:30 a.m. in Via Gramsci.

A type of salami recognizable by its fine grain and lightly smoked sweet flavor: great to eat like this, between two slices of bread, but a fundamental and absolutely irreplaceable ingredient for so many recipes of popular Neapolitan cuisine such as rustico napoletano. A mouth-watering sweet-savory contrast, typical of Neapolitan rotisserie. At the end of the filling, the audience will be able to taste the maxi-sandwich.

This is a never-before-seen combination of civility and hospitality that distinguishes the city of the Torrazzo and will be realized at the close of the fourth edition of the Salami Festival, scheduled in the streets of downtown Cremona from Oct. 7 to 9 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with free admission.

The salami festival now in its fourth edition among the streets of downtown Cremona for three days of gastronomic challenges, showcooking, tastings and cultural events all seasoned with the flavor and scents of salami, the favorite sausage of all young and old who meet in Cremona.

The historic center of Cremona invaded by producers from all over Italy, taste, smells, flavors and not only, the Salami Festival, is also a time to meet and compare to learn more about the secrets and facets of salami.

The event is promoted by the Consorzio di Tutela Salame Cremona IGP, Confartigianato Imprese Cremona, boasts the patronage of the City of Cremona and the contribution of Regione Lombardia, organization by Era Tutta Campagna and SGP Grandi Eventi.
