Daniil Medvedev outspoken about Rafa Nadal

On the sidelines of his current matches in Astana for the Atp tournament on the cement of the Kazakh capitake, Daniil Medvedev expressed his thoughts on a champion who is not in Astana, but whom he himself considers his greatest rival: Rafa Nadal.

Speaking to ‘Prime Video,’ Medvedev said, “I am happy to play against Novak Djokovic (his opponent in the semifinals in Astana, ed.) and I want to beat him, but the tennis player I want to beat most of all is Nadal: I lost two Slam finals against him.”

Medvedev, against Nadal, has played six times on the Atp circuit: only one victory by the Russian, at the 2020 Atp Finals, while there are no less than five by the Mallorcan, who in the final of the 2022 Australian Open had even managed to come back from two sets down.
