An injury that came at the best of times interrupted the stunning match between Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals of the Atp 500 tournament in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The Russian tennis player, after winning the first set 6-4 and losing the second on tie-break 7-6, approached the former Serbian world number one and explained to him that he could not continue because of an adductor problem.

Nole thanks to this surprise withdrawal thus reaches his second consecutive final after Tel Aviv: now he will face Stefanos Tsitsipas, who in the other match folded Rublev in three sets.
