Serbian midfielder responds to Tuscans’ center forward

In the lunch-match of the ninth day of the championship, Torino retook Empoli in the late stages thanks to a sensational goal by Sasa Lukic, who equalized Mattia Destro’s Tuscan lead.

In the first half, it was the granata who played the game and twice saw the 1-0 goal cancelled out for offside: first that of Miranchuk, who had headed past the superlative Vicario, and then that of Sanabria.

The second half opened with an unexpected lead for Empoli, which went ahead thanks to a fantastic goal by Mattia Destro, who managed to beat Vanja Milinkovic-Savic with a backhand from the edge of the area. The same blue number 23, a few minutes later, would again trouble the Serbian extreme defender.

Juric’s men, now disqualified following last week’s expulsion against Napoli, attacked head-on for most of the second half and only in the 90th minute, thanks to a carom on Sasa Lukic, managed to find the deserved 1-1 mark.
