Napoli, Cristiano Giuntoli adamant about farewell rumors
Giuntoli denies rumors about him
Napoli’s exciting start to the season is fertile ground for market rumors concerning not only the players currently under the orders of coach Luciano Spalletti, but also one of the main architects, at management level, of the construction of the team currently leading the Italian league: Cristiano Giuntoli.
The sporting director of the Neapolitan club, at the microphones of ‘Sky Sport’, took the opportunity – on the sidelines of the ‘Maradona’ match between Napoli and Ajax in the Champions League – to deny any possible news about it: “I am very well in Naples, I still have two years of contract, I am very close to the De Laurentiis family, to Aurelio, whom I always thank, because we do not forget that it is thanks to him that we have been able to work, that we have been able to create at this moment something nice. Honestly, I’m not thinking about it.”
Napoli has won two Scudetti in its history, both with Diego Armando Maradona on the field: the first with Ottavio Bianchi on the bench (1986-87 season), the second with Albertino Bigon (1989-90) at the helm. Luciano Spalletti has been at the helm of the Azzurri since 2021: before him was Gennaro Gattuso.
