Ice Hockey, National Team to Mike Keenan
The Italian Ice Sports Federation announced that it has entrusted Canadian Mike Keenan with the technical leadership of the Italian national field hockey team. After a long selection process, therefore, the choice has fallen on a profile of the highest caliber. Mike Keenan, a native of Bowmanville (Ontario), is in fact a face of absolute prestige in the world of field hockey and, in his resume, he can boast extraordinary experiences and great successes in the most important international leagues (NHL and KHL, where he won the Stanley Cup and the Gagarin Cup) and at international level with Team Canada. Joining him in the role of “associate coach” will be compatriot Mike Pelino, another profile of international caliber.
A press conference to introduce the new head coach will be held on Wednesday, October 19, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sheraton Hotel in Bolzano. Mike Keenan will be present along with FISG President Andrea Gios, FISG Vice President Thomas Rottensteiner, FISG Hockey Sector Manager Marcello Cobelli, and National Hockey Teams Manager Stefan Zisser.
