MotoGp, Johann Zarco satisfied after first day of free practice
Zarco dominates FP2 in Australia
Perfect day for Johann Zarco. The Ducati rider took the stage on the first day of free practice for the Australian Grand Prix.
The French centaur immediately showed a good feeling with the bike and the track, recording a time of 1’30″368 in the first free practice session. In FP2 Zarco gained more confidence and awareness with the track and put in an excellent lap (1’29″475), gaining almost a second compared to the one stamped in the morning, which earned him first place.
These are his words at the end of FP2: “A good first day, I had to adapt to the track and the wind that especially in the afternoon was very strong. Very good work with my team, the race pace is good and I also did some good fast laps. An incredible track, it gives you a lot of emotions, I am really satisfied.”
After six titles won by Valentino Rossi in eight years it was the Spanish riders who took the lion’s share of the MotoGp world championship. From 2012 to 2020 only they have won, with Jorge Lorenzo a two-time world champion, Marc Marquez (6) and Joan Mir, triumphant in 2020 with his Suzuki.
