Max Biaggi, bittersweet Saturday at Phillip Island
Sterilgarda team boss Max Biaggi enjoys Sasaki’s pole but worries about McPhee’s difficulties
Sterilgarda team boss Max Biaggi commented with satisfaction on Ayumu Sasaki’s pole position at Phillip Island ahead of the Moto3 Australian Grand Prix scheduled for Sunday.
“It is a great pleasure to see Ayumu leading the standings with his second pole of the year. Ayumu and his entire team have done a great job, even taking into account the absence of some elements of the team. He has shown great speed in every round these days, and I expect that he can confirm this in the race as well, so he can fight for the podium.”
McPhee, on the other hand, finished only 16th: “I’m sorry for John, because after his excellent P1 in Qualifying 1, I thought he could have fought for the front rows. He will have to make a great comeback tomorrow.”
