MotoGp Ducati, Gigi Dall’Igna winks at Marc Marquez
Ducati’s team general manager hopes for an extra ally on Sunday: Marc Marquez
Ducati general manager Gigi Dall’Igna commented optimistically on Pecco Bagnaia’s front row finish in the qualifying session of the MotoGp Australian Grand Prix, despite the mockery of Marc Marquez, who was in the Piedmontese rider’s slipstream for almost the entire session before stealing second place from him: “A front row with Pecco was what we wanted. He prefers to face the time-attack in front of everyone, not caring too much about who takes the slipstream.”
The Ducati executive indeed hopes that the Catalan rider will prove to be an ally ahead of Sunday’s race: “In the end it also comes in handy, because Marc is on the front row with us and ahead of Quartararo. Tomorrow tire management will be decisive and we have confidence on that,” he explained to Sky.
