Juventus drops poker, Empoli overwhelmed

After the success in the derby against Torino, Juventus tries to continue the ascent and does so with a convincing 4-0 infliction on Empoli on the Allianz Stadium turf in the match valid for the 11th day of the Serie A championship.

For the Bianconeri, the match is downhill from the very first minutes: the clock marks 8, in particular, when Moise Kean’s insertion on Kostic’s assist surprises the Tuscan defense and makes it 1-0. Empoli has ball possession on its side but struggles to create good chances to jeopardize the hosts’ lead, who score the second goal of the evening in the 56th minute: Cuadrado’s corner and McKennie’s header past Vicario.

Finally, it was Adrien Rabiot who put his signature on the third and fourth goals: the Frenchman scored from a header in the 82nd minute and from a practically unguarded goal in the 94th minute, definitively sealing the Bianconeri’s poker.

With its second consecutive success, Juventus thus rises to 19 points, while Empoli remains at 11.
