The red and white coach speaks ahead of the challenge against Derthona Basket

Trieste coach Marco Legovich from the press room of the Allianz Dome analyzed Saturday’s home challenge against Derthona Basket: “We are on the eve of a very important challenge, with a team that legitimizes its position in the standings thanks to a proven system of play both on offense and defense thanks to the veteran players from last season that saw Tortona rise and confirm itself as one of the powers in this league. In addition, it is coached by Coach Ramondino, in my opinion one of the best coaches on the national basketball scene.”

“On our part we will have to be good at putting on the parquet what we put on right from the start on Monday, reacting to the bad loss at home against Venice, so great attention, great mentality, an approach to training that was definitely of greater quality and physicality, what we need to face a team like precisely Tortona.”

“Tortona presents itself as a tough team to face that will surely make a high ranking championship. For our part we will have to be good first of all at the individual level to hold duels in the one-on-one and then to contain certain situations, including tactical ones, with a team defense that is certainly more punctual than in recent outings. We have used this week to make sure we are ready.”

Legovich emphasized above all the approach: “It will be imperative to gain confidence right away and gain peace of mind in executing what we know how to do and what we have shown. Right now we are lacking approach and continuity throughout the game, two elements on which we have been focusing during the week and the guys have responded to this since the first video meeting in which we analyzed in depth in no uncertain terms what went wrong in the previous games. We definitely have to play an aggressive game and I am sure that if we can interpret it in the right way things will be easier to develop both in the defensive and offensive halves of the field.”

“Corey Davis had a flare-up of a problem he had with his wrist but beyond more careful handling at the physical level he has been training with the team and will be in the game tomorrow.”
