Yamaha centaur Fabio Quartararo fractured his finger: “But in the race it will not be a problem”

More trouble for Fabio Quartararo: the French rider in the title race with Pecco Bagnaia suffered a fractured middle finger in his left hand after a crash during the fourth free practice session.

The Yamaha centaur was declared “fit” for the race by doctors, but in qualifying, also grappling with various problems with his M1, he was unable to go beyond 12th place.

“Honestly in qualifying it was not a problem. In the race I’ll have a lot of other things to think about, so the finger shouldn’t be a problem, but I’ll definitely take some painkillers for the race,” explained Quartararo, who is thinking mainly about the race: “Starting from 12th position I won’t have a strategy. I will try to go as fast as I can and then we will see how it goes. There won’t be a specific strategy, we will see which tire to use because we haven’t had much time to try the medium and soft. I think I will try more laps with the soft tomorrow and we will see how it goes.”
