MotoGp, Marc Marquez responds to Ducati’s sour face
Honda rider Marc Marquez: “I did everything within the regulations.”
Honda centaur Marc Marquez defended himself against Ducati’s accusations of repeatedly looking for Bagnaia’s slipstream: “Honestly I wait for Bagnaia when he comes out of the pits, because Ducati has a crazy engine and we need the slipstream a lot. If I had that engine I would go alone, but now I don’t. And so, I have to try the maximum always respecting the rules, but going to the limit. I’ll wait for Bagnaia to start, I’ll get behind him, but I won’t bother him.”
“Disturbing is doing like Morbidelli did in PL3, but I put myself behind with a certain gap of 3 tenths or half a second, because that way if he makes a mistake in front of me I don’t take risks – continued the number 93 -. That’s the only way on this track for Honda, but respecting the regulations, while being on the limit. In competitions you have to try to do 100 percent with what you have available.”
Marquez is satisfied with the third position achieved: “I don’t know how I did that lap, after Pecco’s fall in front of me I did the whole lap by myself and also got the time, but I don’t know how I did it. With the pace in PL3 and PL4 we are 14th or 15th, but I managed and I am happy. Then for tomorrow we will see what happens.”
