Lorenzo Musetti after ATP Naples now targets Carlos Alcaraz
With a tournament in the bag, now the goals become even more ambitious.
Lorenzo Musetti won the ATP 250 tournament in Naples, beating Matteo Berrettini in the final in two sets (very hard-fought in the first, almost on the chariot in the second). However, his season is far from being considered over, with the young man from Carrara now having to focus on the next dates on his schedule. And in the background is the dream of a stellar challenge: that with Carlos Alcaraz.
Musetti, after only one night’s rest, will in fact leave for Switzerland to take part in the ATP 500 tournament in Basel. The Tuscan (the only Italian attending the event) already knows his schedule, and should there be no hiccups along the way he could get to challenge Alcaraz himself in the semifinals.
It will not be easy, however, as the draw has not been at all benevolent with Musetti. In fact, the first challenge will be with Albert Ramos-Vinolas, in the round of 16 a clash with Alexander Bublik is possible, and in the quarters a clash with Felix Auger-Aliassime, fresh from winning the ATP 250 tournament in Antwerp.
